Ensemble of the season

The «Trio Catch», featuring Martin Adámek, Eva Boesch and Sun-Young Nam, is the Ensemble of the 25/26 Season.
With breathtaking precision, enthusiasm and an unmistakable range of timbres, the three musicians captivate their audiences and work closely with the most exciting composers of our time. Their list includes countless world premieres and award-winning CD productions with greats such as Isabel Mundry, Georges Aperghis, Beat Furrer, Helmut Lachenmann and many more. The trio has won numerous international awards, conquered the most beautiful concert halls in Europe and is celebrating its 15th anniversary with us at the Gare du Nord, among other venues.

As ensemble of the season, Trio Catch presents three extraordinary concert programmes. The first is «Das Bergsteigerglück» (The Mountaineer's Joy) – a tribute to Helmut Lachenmann on his 90th birthday. In spring, the trio joins forces with singer Nora Bertogg to explore «language» in all its facets: as a means of communication, as sound, as poetry and as a performative experience. Finally, Trio Catch turns its attention to the East and immerses itself in the young, vibrant music scene of Eastern Europe, with a focus on Hungary, Serbia and Croatia. All of the works were composed especially for the trio and reflect a broad spectrum: from pop culture references to poetic soundscapes to political statements.

The Ensemble: Martin Adámek (Clarinet), Eva Boesch (Violoncello), und Sun-Young Nam (Piano)
