This concert explores performance as a system: technological, perceptual, and political. A flutist’s face is monitored and transformed live, turning expression into data and image. A MIDI keyboard becomes a game controller, where playing means navigating rules rather than interpreting a score. A guitarist stages a hyper-performative, “toxic” masculinity, while sensors capture his gestures and translate movement into audiovisual responses. Throughout the evening, bodies are tracked, processed, and redistributed through a multichannel spatial setup, blurring the line between agency and control. The score is not a fixed text but a system of relations between performer, machine, and audience. Here, multimedia art becomes an environment in which sound, image, and code continuously reshape one another.
As part of «ATTACCA – Festival für aktuelle Musik» at the FHNW Academy of Music in Basel, students from the fields of audio design, composition, open creation and contemporary music will present their current artistic projects. The programme includes original compositions, performances, improvisations and works by contemporary composers. The concerts will take place over several days in various formats and with different line-ups.
