For Yannika Frank, singing means making a dream come true. Similarly, folk songs from around the world consist of memories, ideas and the desire to shape reality. However, when asked «Can you teach me to dream?», one usually does not receive a concrete answer. And anyway, what use is fleeting dreaming today? But when a voice answers the drum out of nowhere, or melodies form across the room from a long, deep tone, «dreaming» means understanding oneself and each other.
In her master's performance «Teach Me To Dream», Yannika explores the raison d'être of dreaming in the rhythm of everyday life and within the structures of our time. For the highest creative ability is to shape reality itself.
