«The Longest Song» is a new work that brings HYPER DUO together with musician and composer Fernando Manassero. It centres on sounds from vaporwave, retrofuturism and obsolete electronic devices, which combine with the latest technology to create a post-digital soundscape.
The work addresses the phenomenon of technostalgia: the desire to reconnect with imagination and freedom through technology. Analogue devices, which mediate between the past, present and future like time machines, form the heart of this composition.
The musicians and their sound systems are distributed throughout the space, encircling the audience. In collaboration with light artist Léa Martinez and sound artist Maxime Le Saux, this creates an immersive audiovisual experience.
Gilles Grimaître (Synthesizer); Julien Mégroz (Drums); Fernando Manassero (Sampler/Turntable/Tape); Maxime Le Saux (Sound); Léa Martinez (Light)
