Wie die Fliegen – A Black Symphony of Insects and Humans

An eerie wave of femicides is sweeping across the world. Scientist Elias is searching for explanations. Some phenomenon seems to be causing men to break down the barrier between sexual desire and violence that is anchored in their brains. Plagued by guilt that he was unable to save his neighbour's family and fear that he himself will be overcome by violence, Elias wonders what has happened to people. Are there parallels to his experiments with insects? Elias retreats to his laboratory, which imperceptibly transforms into a world of memories, dreams and nightmares.

Astride Schlaefli and Sebastian Krähenbühl combine their interests in experimental stage worlds between music, theatre, performance and image. With «Wie die Fliegen» (Like Flies), they continue the collaboration they began in 2021 with «Der Krieg mit den Molchen» – as a black symphony of insects and humans.
