Music, painting and literature have always inspired one another. A poem by Dorothy Molloy evokes memories of sounds in Clara Iannotta, whilst Helena Cánovas Parés translates the physicality of a quote from a novel by the Catalan author Mercè Rodoreda into music.
Johannes Schöllhorn, for his part, draws inspiration from Domenico Tiepolo’s series of paintings «Divertimento per li regazzi» to create a grand musical sequence of images. Sharp and vivid moments meet melancholic, morbid and obsessive soundscapes, whilst simultaneously making the connections between our present and a past that was by no means idyllic audible.
