Supporting and fringe programme for «Sonic Boom»

Beyond the concert stage, the eight Sonic Boom artists are given the space, time and support they need for their artistic development, complemented by individual mentoring and a range of collective activities designed to foster exchange and professional positioning.

Panel discussions in the «Collective Listening» format, career development workshops, and training sessions on public speaking and pitching create opportunities for reflection, developing stage presence and networking. A pool of experienced mentors supports the artists in residence, covering a range of specialist areas – including music dramaturgy and text, music marketing, contemporary music performance, improvisation, composition, video and sound art, music theatre, stage and scenography, lighting design, and experimental electronic music. In addition, the artists in residence have access to the infrastructure of the Gare du Nord. The theatre auditorium is temporarily transformed into a laboratory where ideas are developed, formats tested and productions further refined. The programme concludes with a two-day presentation during which the artists in residence present their current and future projects to organisers and professionals from the scene.
