«Ausschweifen»

With «Ausschweifen», a long-cherished dream comes true for the Ensemble Proton Bern:
«Die Aufführung von Georg Friedrich Haas’ «Nach-Ruf … ent-gleitend …» in 2013 was a revelatory experience for us as an ensemble. We were struck by a passion for the world of microtonality, which led us to ever-new explorations of the finest nuances of pitch. The dream of a piece written especially for us by the master has stayed with us ever since.«

«Ausschweifen» is a full-length work for an eight-piece ensemble that lives up to its title in every respect. In it Haas transcends the usual boundaries of the concert format, pushes the performers to their limits and offers the audience an intense sensory experience.
The work was commissioned by Ensemble Proton Bern in collaboration with the Klangspuren Schwaz Festival and the Muziekgebouw Amsterdam.
