DADA Remix

What did the Zurich Dada soirées really sound like? «DADA-Remix» examines the contradictions of a movement whose radical texts were often louder than its surprisingly tame music. Rediscovered piano works by Hans Heusser are juxtaposed with new compositions by Ilona Perger, Jalalu-Kalvert Nelson and Friedemann Treiber.

The concert explores what remains of Dada today: damaged language, suppressed voices, colonial appropriation, forgotten music and the possibility of making history sound different. Without reverence, but with curiosity, a form of music emerges that the Dadaists might have wished for but would never quite have dared to create themselves.
