«Am Sommer erstickt» brings together new works by Klaus-Peter Werani for viola and voice and by Georges Aperghis for narrator with compositions by Salvatore Sciarrino and Iannis Xenakis.
In this programme, the French violist Geneviève Strosser and the German composer Klaus-Peter Werani bring together their long-standing exploration of the viola, the voice and performative forms of expression. The focus is on the interplay between instrument, voice and poetry.
The starting point for the new compositions by Werani and Aperghis is the contemporary poem «Für einen schmerzlichen Takt ineinander« by Nancy Hünger. It provides the poetic inspiration for a programme in which language and music intertwine in a variety of ways.
