Activities for Children

As well as concerts and exhibitions, the summer festival also offers a range of fun hands-on activities for children and families. Creative workshops, playful activities and little moments of enjoyment invite you to spend time together and discover the festival in a relaxed way.

Button printing & craft corner
10:00 – 18:00 Fürstengarten
In our little mobile workshop, everyone from young to old can make their own buttons. Using a template provided by us or one you’ve created yourself, you can make a cool pin badge in just a few minutes. Everything you need is available on site! Painting and craft materials are also provided, so there are no limits to your creativity.

Kinderschminke Basel
14:00 - 16:00 Fürstengarten
Leonor and Pia from Kinderschminke Basel use plenty of imagination, colour and sensitivity to transform children into animals, mythical creatures, superheroes or their very own dream characters. Using skin-friendly paints from Eulenspiegel and specially developed, illustrated make-up templates, they create individual little works of art directly on the skin.

Making magic salt
14:00 - 16:00 Fürstengarten
Together with Anja from the Paladuk playgroup at the Hirzbrunnen community centre, plain sea salt is transformed into colourful magic salt. By mixing and layering different colours, little works of art made of salt are created in jars, which you can take home with you. The colourful magic salt isn’t just eye-catching; it also adds a touch of magic when cooking and seasoning.

Waffle Bar
From 10:00 Terrace
Before the programme gets underway throughout the building, fresh waffles will be served between 10:00 am and 12:00 pm to kick off the summer festival. At our Waffle Bar, you can combine the freshly baked waffles with various sweet toppings to suit your fancy.
