The special edition of the interdisciplinary Interfinity Festival on the topics of biodiversity, urban ecology and sustainability will open with a performance of Igor Stravinsky's «Le Sacre du Printemps» – two grand pianos, two grand pianists: Denis Linnik and Claudio Martinez Mehner. With gripping intensity, this world-famous work evokes and celebrates the resurrection of nature – the perfect start to a festival about life!
The programme is complemented by two rarely heard works: Arthur Honegger's «Pastoral d'été» and John Adams' «Hallelujah Junction».
Before the concert, a supporting programme will take place at 7 p.m. in the Bar du Nord in collaboration with BirdLife and Basel blüht auf. In three ten-minute talks, experts will discuss the importance of biodiversity in the city.
