Evelinn Trouble X Otis Sandsjö

The haunting melodies and poetic lyricism of Trouble seamlessly merge with Sandsjö’s hypnotising saxophone riffs and electronic explorations, resulting in an inventive musical fusion.

Otis Sandsjö – initiator and mastermind behind the band Y-OTIS – settled in Berlin via Sweden and brings his own special genre-bending, forward-looking liquid jazz sounds. Otis's sound is described as an «audio mosaic» fusing together a selection of micro moods, inspired as much by hip-hop and electronica as by jazz. In his music, hypnotizing saxophone riffs and fragmented jazz styles manage to bring strong melodies and funk beats whilst remaining fluid.

Evelinn Trouble grew up in Zurich and went to school there until 2007. After school she worked as a freelance singer and songwriter, touring with Sophie Hunger's former indie rock band «Fisher», and furthermore was a guest singer with rapper Stress. She lived in London and Berlin for four and a half years before settling in Basel, where her EP «Hope Music» was created. She has produced five albums and has released multiple EPs. Her music draws from a plethora of styles and genres, beautifully blended in a highly distinctive style.
