Warehouses are generally considered a "negative land burden" and are often demolished as a preparatory measure even before urban development planning. This not only results in the loss of grey emissions, but often also the identity and special character of the location. The Hütten und Paläste office has converted a former distribution centre, exploited the potential of the existing building and created a network of diverse indoor and outdoor areas that would hardly be conceivable in a new building. The largely demountable components allow users to adapt the building for future uses, create new spatial relationships and thus enable further life cycles.
