Rockfalls, avalanches, hurricanes, thunderstorms, glacier collapses, floods. The deadly grip of a predator, the conquest of entire landscapes by a single plant species, the spread of a virus. Nature cannot be tamed and is ultimately uncontrollable: wild.
«Wildnis/Espaces» lets the audience experience a lucid dream in sound and image, in which there is no foothold. Within a strict formal framework, an intangible avalanche of sound is unleashed, reflecting natural phenomena from a human perspective.
Since its foundation, the «ensemble histoirefuture» has specialised in improvisation – both according to historical models and influenced by various contemporary practices, embedded in performative forms.
Matthias Klenota's penchant for juxtaposing harsh contrasts in subtle and unusual ways creates a unique blend of intensity and grace, harshness and subtle humour.
