Master Performance MAMP Music and Movement by Yannika Frank - HSM Basel FHNW
Making music means dreaming attentively about the world. Whether classical, contemporary, folk music or improvisation, every song is closely connected to it in its own way. Awake, loud, healing, grotesque or poetic, it colours the imagination that leads people across the ridge between consciousness and subconsciousness.
In her master's performance «Teach Me To Dream», Yannika Frank explores the nature of utopia with an ensemble of musicians and dancers. With music and movement, they guide the audience through dream images to the question of themselves and what holds us together. Together, they explore how to relearn dreaming when it occasionally slips away.
Yannika Frank (artistic direction/vocals/movement); Emily Adjei (soprano); Naima Dönges, Celine Ledermann (vocals/movement); Saya Yamamoto (shinobue/movement); Linda Gerber (movement); Laurin Weiss (piano/shruti box); Sylvia Nopper (mentoring)
