Ignat Khlobystin presents new work in the realm of Open Creation. The instrumentation includes flutes in various registers, accordion, bassoon, double bass, and percussion. This 45-minute performance is conceived as an open format for exploring new sonic connections.
In the practice of improvised music, Ignat is interested in the way musicians interact with each other and how the individual language becomes part of a common language and vice versa. With ‘Friendship suite for five improvisers’, Ignat aims to create a project in which each musician is a co-author and has a space to express their own ideas.
As part of «ATTACCA – Festival for Contemporary Music» by the University of Music FHNW Basel – students from the departments of Audio Design, Composition, Open Creation, and Contemporary Music present their current artistic projects. The programme features original compositions, performances, improvisations, and works by contemporary composers. Concerts take place over several days in varying formats and line-ups.
